Built a two-decade television career on a pair of sharply contrasting characters: the uptight, morally compromised law partner Douglas Brackman on L.A. Law, which earned him Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, and Larry, Dharma's aging hippie father on Dharma & Greg. The range between the two roles was the point — a corporate stiff and a burnout, played by the same actor within a few years of each other.
