Holds a PhD in mathematics from Moscow State University, and has put a substantial share of the fortune that followed into maths education for disadvantaged UK students through the charity he founded, Axiom Maths, and into wartime relief and mathematics education in Ukraine after 2022, including founding the International Centre for Mathematics in Ukraine.
