A screenwriter and producer who, with longtime partner Roberto Orci, rebuilt two franchises for a new generation — writing Transformers and the 2009 Star Trek reboot before directing The Mummy (2017) himself. He has since run Star Trek's television expansion as showrunner across Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Starfleet Academy, becoming the franchise's most consistent creative steward since Gene Roddenberry.
