An Israeli Likud politician serving as Minister of Diaspora Affairs, whose entry into national politics was defined by a break with his own party: elected to the Knesset in 2021 on Naftali Bennett's Yamina list, he voted against the coalition his own party had just formed and helped bring down the Bennett-Lapid government before crossing to Likud, where he won re-election on its ticket.
