Andrea Dworkin spent thirty years writing radical feminist analysis centered on men's sexual violence against women, publishing a dozen books that ranged from literary criticism of Tolstoy and Baldwin to sustained arguments against pornography, several co-written with legal scholar Catharine MacKinnon. Her work pushed the legal and cultural debate over pornography and free speech further than almost any other American writer of her generation, and remains argued over on both sides of that fight.
