Andrew Dice Clay built 'The Diceman,' a deliberately offensive, hyper-macho stand-up persona that drew both massive audiences -- he was the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights running, in 1990 -- and sustained criticism for its misogyny and shock tactics. Decades later he found new acclaim in straight dramatic roles, including Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine and the 2018 A Star Is Born remake, the latter earning him a Screen Actors Guild nomination.
