Anton Yelchin

American actor

1989 – 2016aged 27

Anton Yelchin built a prolific career playing against type in both mainstream and independent film, best known for reinventing Pavel Chekov across three Star Trek films while also anchoring smaller, riskier work like Like Crazy and the horror thriller Green Room. Born in the Soviet Union to a Russian Jewish family that emigrated to the United States when he was six months old, he moved fluidly between blockbuster franchises, voice work, and character-driven independent films throughout his teens and twenties. He died in 2016, at 27, in an accident involving his own car.
