Barry Gordon earned a Tony Award nomination as a teenager for A Thousand Clowns (1963) before building a long career as a character actor and voice performer — he originated the voice of Donatello, and later Bebop, in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. He went on to serve seven years as president of the Screen Actors Guild, from 1988 to 1995, the longest tenure in the union's history for that role, and later became a political talk radio host.
