Béla Fleck

Took the banjo out of its bluegrass box, fusing it with jazz and other genres first with New Grass Revival and then with his own band, the Flecktones. He has won 18 Grammy Awards from 41 nominations, an unusually wide spread across genre categories for a single instrumentalist, and was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2020.
