Billy Steinberg

With songwriting partner Tom Kelly, wrote a run of 1980s No. 1 hits that still define the decade's pop radio: Madonna's Like a Virgin, Cyndi Lauper's True Colors, Whitney Houston's So Emotional, and Eternal Flame for the Bangles. After Kelly retired from music, he kept writing hits with other collaborators, including Celine Dion's Falling into You and Demi Lovato's Give Your Heart a Break, spanning four decades on the charts before his death in early 2026.
