Played the wholesome single father Danny Tanner on Full House for eight seasons and hosted America's Funniest Home Videos for nearly a decade, becoming one of the most recognizable faces in family television. Off screen and on stage, his stand-up was aggressively profane — a gap between persona and person that became part of his appeal — and his 2014 comedy album earned a Grammy nomination. He also narrated How I Met Your Mother as the unseen voice of future Ted Mosby.
