Charles Rosen

Charles Rosen built parallel careers as a concert pianist and a music critic, recording widely across both. His book The Classical Style, an analysis of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, won the National Book Award for Arts and Letters and remains a touchstone in musicology.
