1902 – 2000aged 98

A German-American novelist and screenwriter who, fleeing Nazi Germany, became one of Hollywood's defining architects of horror and science fiction, writing The Wolf Man (1941) — which introduced the now-standard lore of lycanthropy and silver bullets — and adapting his own novel Donovan's Brain into film. His brother Robert Siodmak became a leading director of film noir.
