Cyril M. Kornbluth

A member of New York's Futurian science-fiction circle, Kornbluth published prolifically under a string of pseudonyms — Cecil Corwin, S. D. Gottesman, Simon Eisner among them — often to get around magazines' reluctance to run multiple stories by the same byline in one issue. His satirical collaborations with Frederik Pohl, including The Space Merchants, used the genre to needle Cold War-era advertising and consumerism, work cut short by his death at 34.
