Dan Fogler won a Tony Award for his Broadway debut, playing the anxious speller William Barfée in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, before moving into film comedies like Balls of Fury and Fanboys. He found his widest audience as the endearingly hapless Jacob Kowalski across the Fantastic Beasts series (2016–2022), and later played music manager Albert Grossman in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, earning a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
