As lead majority counsel for the House Intelligence Committee, he ran much of the investigative work behind Donald Trump's first impeachment in 2019 and served as lead counsel to the House managers at the subsequent Senate trial. He was elected to represent New York's 10th congressional district in 2022 and reelected in 2024, before losing renomination in the 2026 Democratic primary.
