Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Chad J. McNeeley · Public domain

Dave Attell built his stand-up reputation on dense, dry one-liners delivered with a deliberately world-weary deadpan, a style that made him a favorite among fellow comedians even as it kept him a cult figure rather than a mainstream name. He is best known for hosting Comedy Central's Insomniac with Dave Attell, which followed him through late-night city life across the country, alongside decades of touring as a stand-up comic and writer.
