A multi-instrumentalist who moves fluently between bluegrass, blues, and folk rock, Bromberg built his reputation as much through collaboration as through his own recordings, backing Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and Jerry Garcia and co-writing "The Holdup" with George Harrison. His fingerpicking style, learned directly from Reverend Gary Davis, anchors a catalogue defined by musicianship rather than hits.
