As the frontman of Van Halen across three separate stretches between 1974 and 2020, Roth's acrobatic stage presence and self-mocking bravado set a template for hard-rock showmanship on hits like "Jump" and "Panama." His 2006 reunion tour with the band became the highest-grossing tour of the year, and the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. He also built a successful solo career, scoring hits with "California Girls" and "Just Like Paradise" during the band's hiatus.
