David Miliband served as UK Foreign Secretary from 2007 to 2010, becoming, at 41, the youngest person to hold the post since 1977, after rising through Tony Blair's policy operation and into Parliament as MP for South Shields. He narrowly lost the 2010 Labour leadership contest to his brother, Ed Miliband, then left British politics; since 2013 he has led the International Rescue Committee, the humanitarian organization aiding refugees and people displaced by conflict.
