David Winters

David Winters choreographed some of the defining dance sequences of 1960s film and television, working with Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret on Viva Las Vegas and inventing dance crazes like the Watusi for the show Hullabaloo. He began as a child actor, appearing in the original Broadway productions of West Side Story and Gypsy before being recast in the 1961 film version. He later ran his own production company, directing and producing television specials and, in the 1980s and '90s, a run of independent action films.
