Donald Fagen co-founded Steely Dan with Walter Becker in the early 1970s, building a catalog of meticulously produced jazz-inflected rock that earned the band induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. His 1982 solo debut, The Nightfly, drew seven Grammy nominations, and he continued touring under the Steely Dan name after Becker's death in 2017.
