Ed Ames had a string of Easy Listening No. 1 hits in the mid-to-late 1960s, including "My Cup Runneth Over" and "Time, Time," after starting out performing with his brothers as the Ames Brothers in the 1950s. He also had a long-running role as Mingo on the television series Daniel Boone, sustaining a music career and an acting career at once rather than choosing between them.
