Frances Goodrich spent most of her career writing in partnership with her husband Albert Hackett, and their adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank for the stage won both the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. Before that 1955 collaboration, she worked as an actress and screenwriter, part of a writing team whose work helped bring Anne Frank's story to a wide American audience.
