George E. Stone built a long Hollywood career on tough, streetwise supporting roles despite a slight build, memorably as Otero in Little Caesar (1931) and as "The Runt," loyal sidekick to detective Boston Blackie across a string of Columbia Pictures films through the 1940s. He later played the court clerk in 44 episodes of Perry Mason and appeared in Some Like It Hot, earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.
