Israeli politician

b. 1966age 59Living

An Israeli politician who rose through Likud to serve as education and interior minister under Benjamin Netanyahu, then broke from the party to found New Hope after an unsuccessful leadership challenge. He served as justice minister and deputy prime minister in the Bennett-Lapid government, later steering his party back into Netanyahu's coalition during the Gaza war, and became foreign minister in November 2024 — a career built as much on splitting from power as on holding it.
