HL
Harvey Lembeck
American actor
1923 – 1982aged 58
A comic actor who made Cpl. Rocco Barbella a fixture of 1950s television opposite Phil Silvers on The Phil Silvers Show, then reinvented himself in the 1960s as Eric Von Zipper, the blustering biker who turned up across the beach party film cycle. He also took the stage and screen versions of Stalag 17 seriously enough to leave a mark in a genre built for gags. His sons Michael Lembeck and Helaine Lembeck carried the family into acting and directing after him.
