An American-born science fiction writer and anthologist who has lived in Australia since 1994, Dann has edited or co-edited more than seventy books of speculative fiction, shaping which stories in the genre reached wider audiences as much as writing his own. His nine novels and shorter fiction, translated into thirteen languages, have drawn comparisons to Borges and Philip K. Dick for their blend of the fantastic and the historical.
