Jack Irons was the founding drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and later a member of Pearl Jam, recording and touring the Mirror Ball album with Neil Young during his time in the latter band. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Chili Peppers in 2012, rejoining them onstage for the first time in 24 years to perform "Give It Away," and has since released two solo albums.
