Jake Kasdan built a career directing broad American comedies, including Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Bad Teacher, and Sex Tape, before moving into big-budget franchise filmmaking with the Jumanji reboot series and Red One. His films have ranged from cult-favorite satire to mainstream box-office hits, a range that reflects a director as comfortable with modest comedy as with tentpole spectacle.
