A character actor whose face was more famous than his name, turning up in Poltergeist, The China Syndrome, Wall Street, and The Return of the Living Dead, which earned him a Saturn Award nomination. He was also, memorably, "Mr. Pathmark" — the East Coast supermarket chain's pitchman in commercials that ran from the late 1970s into the 1990s and became a minor pop-culture fixture in their own right.
