A director who has moved between genres without settling into one, from the prison drama Cop Land and the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line to the superhero film Logan and the racing drama Ford v Ferrari — the latter two both earning him Academy Award nominations. He directed and co-wrote Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the franchise's final installment, and the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, which brought him his first nomination for Best Director.
