An economist who chaired the White House Council of Economic Advisers from 2023 to the end of the Biden presidency, after serving earlier as Vice President Biden's chief economist during the Obama administration. He spent the years between those two roles as a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, building a career centered on labor markets and economic policy for working Americans across three administrations' worth of government service.
