Jeff Ross earned the nickname 'Roastmaster General' for his insult comedy at the New York Friars Club and on Comedy Central's celebrity roast specials, a form he helped popularize into mainstream entertainment. The Chicago Tribune called him 'the new millennium Don Rickles'; his directorial debut, the documentary Patriot Act, won best film at Montreal's Just for Laughs festival.
