Jill Sobule

A singer-songwriter best known for "I Kissed a Girl" and "Supermodel," from the Clueless soundtrack, both from 1995, who wrote ironic, character-driven songs alongside more emotive ballads that often drew on her own life, including her Jewish heritage. In 2009 she released California Years funded entirely by fan donations, making her an early pioneer of what became known as crowdfunding. She died in 2025.
