John Safran built a career blending documentary, satire and stunt journalism across religious, political and ethnic fault lines, first gaining attention on Race Around the World in 1997. His television work has included running through Jerusalem wearing nothing but a football beanie and scarf and staging a mock fatwa against an Australian talk-show host; he has since worked as a journalist and author, publishing his latest book, Squat, in 2024.
