Directed 50/50 (2011), a comedy built around a young man's cancer diagnosis that found real laughs without minimizing the illness at its center, then followed it with the genre-hopping likes of the zombie romance Warm Bodies (2013) and the political comedy Long Shot (2019). Broke through at Sundance with The Wackness (2008), which won the festival's Audience Award, and has since moved into television as well, directing for Nine Perfect Strangers and Tell Me Lies.
