Judd Hirsch has spent five decades moving between stage and screen without settling into either: two Primetime Emmys for playing cab dispatcher Alex Rieger on Taxi, two Tony Awards for his stage work, and two Academy Award nominations forty-two years apart, for Ordinary People (1980) and The Fabelmans (2022). Few actors get a second Oscar nomination that late in a career, for an entirely different kind of role.
