Kay Thompson

Kay Thompson created the mischievous six-year-old Eloise, narrator of a series of children's books set in New York's Plaza Hotel that became a publishing phenomenon and a permanent fixture of the hotel's identity. Before that she worked as a singer, vocal arranger, and coach in Hollywood, and appeared on screen as the fashion editor in Funny Face, a career that moved fluidly between music, writing, and performance.
