Lauren Weisberger turned her stint as an assistant to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour into The Devil Wears Prada, a 2003 roman à clef that became a bestseller and, in 2006, a hit film. She has since published seven more novels, building a career from the same eye for the fashion industry's internal workings that made her debut a phenomenon.
