Louis Nye

Nye built his career on The Steve Allen Show, where his character Gordon Hathaway — a pretentious country-club braggart holding forth in the show's "Man on the Street" sketches — made "Hi-ho, Steverino" a catchphrase audiences waited for, with Allen himself frequently breaking into laughter at Nye's ad-libs. He kept working for decades afterward, guesting on shows from The Beverly Hillbillies to Curb Your Enthusiasm, still performing into his nineties.
