Mandy Patinkin

American actor and singer

b. 1952age 73Living

A Broadway leading man who originated two of Stephen Sondheim's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's most demanding roles: Che in the first Broadway production of Evita, which won him a Tony, and Georges Seurat in Sunday in the Park with George. He later built an entirely separate reputation on television, winning an Emmy for Chicago Hope and spending a decade as CIA veteran Saul Berenson on Homeland — a rare case of an actor becoming a defining presence on both stage and screen in different decades.
