Michael Gordon

A film director whose early Hollywood career, built on films noir and the acclaimed Cyrano de Bergerac (1950), was interrupted when he was blacklisted as a Communist during the McCarthy era. Producer Ross Hunter brought him back into the industry in the late 1950s to direct Pillow Talk, launching a second career phase of romantic comedies that included Boys' Night Out and Move Over, Darling.
