Mischa Auer

A Russian-born character actor who moved to Hollywood in the late 1920s and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the screwball comedy My Man Godfrey in 1936, a role that set the template for the eccentric parts he played for decades afterward, later working in French and Italian film into the 1960s.
