1908 – 1996aged 87
A comedian and writer who hosted his own variety program, The Morey Amsterdam Show, in the late 1940s, then found his most enduring role as the wisecracking comedy writer Buddy Sorrell on The Dick Van Dyke Show from 1961 to 1966.
