Naomi Klein

Canadian author and activist

b. 1970age 56Living

A journalist and author who gave the anti-globalization movement its foundational text with No Logo (1999), a critique of corporate branding that became required reading well beyond activist circles. The Shock Doctrine (2007) extended the argument into a history of how crises get used to push through unpopular economic policy, and This Changes Everything (2014) turned the same scrutiny on climate change, becoming a bestseller and winning the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize. She now holds a professorship in climate justice at the University of British Columbia.
