Necro, born Ron Braunstein, built an independent career in hip-hop by founding his own label, Psycho+Logical-Records, in 1999 rather than working through a major, and used it to release his own records as well as collaborations as one-half of The Godfathers with Kool G Rap. He came up through the group Non-Phixion and recorded with his older brother Ill Bill in the Circle of Tyrants and Secret Society.
