Co-founded Trian Partners with Peter May and Edward Garden, an activist investment fund built around taking stakes in companies and pushing for changes to how they are run — among them Heinz, Mondelez International, and Ingersoll Rand, where he sat on the board. He had earlier served as CEO of Triangle Industries.
