Nick Phillips, Baron Phillips of Worth Matravers

A British judge who became the first President of the newly created Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in 2009, serving until 2012, after earlier terms as Master of the Rolls and as the last Senior Lord of Appeal in Ordinary. He was also the first Lord Chief Justice to lead the English judiciary after that role was separated from the Lord Chancellor's in 2006.
