Norman Lloyd

American actor, producer and director

1914 – 2021aged 106

An actor, producer, and director whose career in entertainment stretched from 1923 to his death at 106, making him one of the last living links to Depression-era American theater — he apprenticed with the Group Theatre and Orson Welles's Mercury Theatre before beginning a long collaboration with Alfred Hitchcock, appearing in Saboteur and Spellbound and producing Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He found a new generation of fans in the 1980s as Dr. Daniel Auschlander on St. Elsewhere, and kept acting past his hundredth birthday, appearing in Trainwreck (2015).
